This year, however, we also had the school grading fiasco, after which GiaQuinta said they would also blow off the grades and grade themselves. If they give themselves an "A" they can hang up all those banners again. Or just wait for the new Glenda Ditz system which will give every school an "A" with no more "F"'s like the new FWCS system.

I am not a fan of the A to F grading system. A number of the Catholic schools, last year, received A's. The problem with Catholic schools is there teachers, are often no better than FWCS. I went to college with many of the Catholic school teachers, and some were okay students, but the majority were sub-par to mediocre. They were not any better or any worse. Several Catholic school principals and administrators leave Catholic schools every year to teach in FWCS' for better pay and benefits. This would equate that families are often the root cause of low pay.
There is a lot of discussion about the wonder's of Finland's great teachers, but Finish mother's are given a full year off to bond with the new baby. Bonding and education is a really great dynamic duo that can promote good results.
A-F is just a different version of what we had before, except it's easier to relate to and since it's based on testing you're probably not a fan of testing. Finland only tests on an occasional basis but they have a graduation exam which kids take seriously. They can do that because they don't have to question the quality of their teachers.
Here we have quality problem at any kind of school that will only change if we reform our education colleges, i.e. put most of them out of business.
I know two teachers that are amazing. I subbed for both multiple times, and watched them teach, when I was in FWCS' for other teachers. The two actually taught lesson plans, worked hard, were committed to their students. Yet, they were bright and had tons of common sense. Both of them were fired by FWCS for teaching, too well. Guess what? Both now teach for Carroll High School. FWCS desires the best and brightest to leave, so they can groom the dumb ones.
