Why shouldn't the board vote for this? This won't involve them once they all get voted off at the next election..we can only HOPE they will all be gone that is.

Not on video, not part of the meeting minutes. The board members will now have "plausible deniability" that any individual ever made a comment.

Pablo- If that's concern, write your comments down and give each board member a copy. I don't see why that would be a problem, though. The board is not compelled to act on any public input or even listen to the speaker. By having comments at the end, they certainly don't influence anything they will be voting on at that meeting.
My concern is that the board is attempting to limit the ability of citizens from sharing their thoughts with each other. My experience as a producer/director at Access FW is that many residents don't even know that situations exist that are of importance, until it comes to their attention because they saw it on public access TV. Insuring that public comment is on the record is not for the meeting that already occurred. It is so that we can attempt to influence what will occurs in the future that impacts the students, parents, and teachers.
Pablo- You're right. FWCS board meetings, however, are an exercise in self promotion and PR. Most "public" speakers are district employees who say what the board wants to hear. There is no "public" dialog, because they can't control the message that way. Mostly the meetings are a farce not worth televising.
