Becky who?

The GiaQianta gang, trying to get incumbent Jon Olinger off the board because he had the nerve to vote against the bond issue, has come up with an opponent to run against him. Is this the woman who left her position as head of the Wells Street YWCA because she was in over her head? Who retired early because she had run the Y into the ground resulting in its closure? Apparently she does have one qualification, the ability to get in line behind Mark and follow the leader.

Wow - that is way over the top and way out of line. Becky Hill led the YWCA for 15 years through some major challenges. There were lots of stakeholders with a wide variety of opinions as to what should be done with their facilities (sound familiar?). Becky spent time analyzing the situation and led the organization through a series of difficult choices. She has a great combination of compassion and toughness which will be a great addition to the school board.

That is the one of the most BIASED inaccurate posts I have ever read.

Why do I sense that this NON PARTISAN election has future implications for someone in the Democratic Party? Amazing what a shot across the bow will flush out of the hold.

Dear CBS:

Not so sure what you are referencing, but I think you are over-reading here.

Your original post was, as I said before, over the top and way out of line. I was defending my friend, Becky. Nothing more, nothing less.

And, Mr./Ms. CBS, it does seem to me a bit hypocritical that your blog does not allow anonymous comments while the only person's name I could find here is your organization's treasurer, and that is after several clicks.

The officers of the PAC are a matter of public record at the ACEC. But to save you the trouble of going down there, the President is Lockwood Marine and the other officer is Dennis Leininger.

Mr. & Mrs. CBS

I would like your opinion of the Scott Academy debacle.

IMHO, Scott Academy should be shut down. During the last school year, Levan R. Scott Academy hosted 225 students, which can easily be divided into surrounding schools: 1.) Harrison Hill 2.) Fairfield 3.)Irwin 4.) Weisser Park. In addition, the students could attend Pleasant Center, South Wayne or even Washington. With Broadway - Imagine opening their doors, I am sure FWCS will have more than 300 places available.

Oh by the way, how many students do you think FWCS will lose? My bet 328 students.

Actually, if you're talking about the underground storage tank, I wouldn't call that a debacle. Not knowing the details, I'm assuming the tank is no longer used and I wouldn't have argued with a decision just to leave it alone. I would expect them to have drained out all the oil they could but it's probably not possible to get it completely empty.
