New volunteers keep showing up

Every day another new set of new faces comes to 4714 Parnell to pick up petitions. Before the drive started we didn't have enough volunteers to cover all the neighborhoods. Now that we have more volunteers, we're trying to redistribute people from neighborhoods that are well covered to areas that are not covered. We ask everyone to be flexible and communicate and help us spread the effort efficiently throughout the city. We'd like to have volunteers running into each other everywhere, so everyone who wants to sign a blue petition has that opportunity. But we can't guarantee someone will knock on your door, so don't wait for us to do that. Go to a library or our headquarters, or better yet carry a blue petition yourself.

Our library schedule at Georgetown has expanded to six days of the week, thanks to additional volunteers and a great response.

I believe the new volunteers will find this a very rewarding experience. You cannot believe all the sincere appreciation and "thank-yous" I have received from people of all ages and walks of life as they sign and hand back the blue petition.

I've had complete strangers come up to me by foot, bicycle, or car, and ask to sign, or point out where I should take the petition next. The support is incredible.

This is like that Dr Suess story "Horton Hears a Who". Do you remember that?

"The Who's finally make themselves heard by ensuring that all members of their society play their part. In the end it is the smallest Who of all, Jo-Jo, who provides the last volume lift to be heard, thus reinforcing the moral of "a person's a person no matter how small".

Stay focused. Let's collect every last signature from every last Who in Whoville, and send a resounding message to FWCS with an overwhelming victory.
